Title: Ramifications of Layer Delete??
Post by: craigr on December 30, 2010, 11:45:19 AM
We have recently changed our Title Blocks layout / appearance.

I want to write a script to switch to the new TB.

I have been deleting the layers 'TitleBlock' & 'TitleBlockText', (there are no blocks on the deleted layers).
I then pasteclip the NEW Title Block & Info back into the dwg.

Are there ill ramifications from deleting the layers & doing it this way?

I would not think so.
If any objects remain on the layer(s) they will not delete.

Yes they DO delete. That is my goal.

I have done it on approx 500 dwgs and so far, deleting those layers is working fine.

I was more worried about any 'unseen' problems.

sounds like a great instance to employ a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
