Title: [C3D] Showing a 3D model on Long Sections?
Post by: spittle on April 30, 2009, 06:15:17 AM
How difficult would it be to create 3D objects that can be viewed on my profile view? My proposed alignment passes through a couple of proposed valve chambers and it's a pain having to measure and then redraw them on my profile views everytime the alignment moves.

The 3D modelling isn't a problem but I'm wondering, do I need to start investigating how to create structures?

for this instance I would suggest using a 'simple' 3d object as a block and use that as the structure type in this instance...

then learn that you hate Part Builder later....and before you ever enter the Part Builder, do your self a huge favor and Back Up the part catalog folder completely, Right Now!

In 2009, it would be a pain.  In 2010, it would be fairly simple with the ability to project mutliview blocks to the profile.

You know If all they are, are 'Valve Chambers"; a Concrete box with Walls, why not just use a Stock Structure, and just Use the Description you assign it, instead of the Part Name Properties for it's label?
