I have a file that when I try to print it crashes. It's not an overwhelmingly large file. I'm not sure what may be causing the problem. Any ideas?
-
It crashes on print preview as well. I queried into a new file and the problem remained.

I have seen it when the .PC3 file is corrupted (and there are no problems with my drawing)....
maybe
-
I use the same .pc3 with other files and don't have the problem. :|
-
can I see that no printing, no previewing file?
-
Things I normally do:
- if the drawing is on a server, I open it local and tested there
- recover, audit
- start from scratch drawing an paste all there...
hth
-
It's actually the same file I tried to send you a week or so ago and you said you couldn't even download it. I've been trying to clean it up some, but thus far nothing I've purged from it has had positive results.
-
try posting it to a lily pad....
-
Try this.
-
Sadly I will be infecting your dwg with the 2009 upgrade virus when I close it.
-
I ran a test here and it preview your drawing, any of the layouts btw.
copy your file on your pc (local) and try it.... also where is the pc3?
-
it plots fine here
-
I've tried it on my local. Ran a recover too. It still causes trouble. I've tried to another printer too.
-
Print to DWF and then print that....
-
Ok so it prints, but crashes on print preview...???

If one is properly using Named Page Setups, one should have little need to Preview the print, unless one is wanting to take a 'working' break. ;-)
One needs to print the properly configured Layout Tabs, I say not extents. To this I say Nay!
-
Yes I know you say nay, but I say YAY! This encourages folks to not leave remnants of past thoughts floating around in paperspace and for the most part it has worked progressively well over time. :-P
And besides, this time around I was simply wanting to print just a small area rather than the entire sheet so I had windowed it and out of habit I always click preview in that case. :-P :-P
-
did you try another pc3? and still does not allow to preview?
-
Tried another printer altogether. Same error.
-
well..... that's strange
I ran here a recover and it find an error on your drawing:
Drawing recovery.
Drawing recovery log.

after doing the audit or recover and then open the drawing via recover it shows a ton of errors like:

and after doing all that, I open the drawing via recover one more time and still it shows:
AcDbSpatialIndex(3082C) was repaired.
Audit does not catch it....
below is your drawing saved with A2007, hth
-
I think at this point it is no longer a C3D drawing any longer, or is it?
There is NO Surface object in that file. aaaaghhhhh!!!!!!!

that's why I rename it..... :)
to exclude any possibilty.... :) - I should mentioned that...
-
you KILLER!!!!!!! :-o
:-D :lmao:
-
Still doesn't work. I tried the same. Recover > save > Audit > save > Recover > save... It catches one or two errors each time. :realmad:
-
I might just have to fire up a version of 2008 so I can touch it without contaminating it with the 2009 upgrade virus.
For a more detailed look at it.
