Does anyone know if there is a setting for turning off the pivot ball?
I am testing acad 2012
Also, I heard Autodesk uses there own driver for the space pilot, are there any settings within Acad that are adjustable?

I don't know about the pivot ball.

As for the settings, doesn't sound that way.  I've already been ranting about this HERE. 

I'm going to be leaving a comment on Steve's blog (Here)once I get 2012 installed and tested.  I stayed back to 2010 myself with my navigator because of anti-production issues found in 2011.
