2009 Layout Tabs
« on: May 19, 2008, 10:38:42 AM »
In 2009 if I've got a drawing with quite a few layout tabs - say 20+ or so when I click on the forward and backwards buttons in the lower right to navigate so I can see more tabs I now get a dialog that says "Rename Layout" and gives me 2 choices neither of which I want to do so I simply click cancel. I've attached a screen shot of that dialog.

However it's pretty darn frustrating that it will repeatedly pull up that dialog. Does anyone know why that is coming up in the first place when I'm not trying to rename any layout to begin with or is there a way to suppress that dialog? The only thing I can tell is that since it's part of a sheet set I guess it doesn't like the discrepancy between the sheet title + number and the layout name, but that still doesn't explain it popping up when I simply try to scroll through the layouts.

:pissed:

Just tried creating a bunch of layouts and scrolling through them and couldn't produce the same results, but then you appear to be using Vista. I'm on XP with plan 2009 and not using sheet sets.

I don't have that option in the options.. and I didn't see that in any of the other options tabs.

Yeah I'm using Vista ( :ugly:).

I just tried it with a new drawing thats not part of a sheet set and while I didn't get the dialog I was able to reproduce the problem it seems. With 18 Layouts when I start scrolling through them it will highlight the name of one of the sheets like I'm trying to rename it.

The only one that shows up in there is the one about whether acad.lsp should be loaded per drawing or only once.

Doesn't show up in MEP on XP or Vista for me either.
Is this a VBA application you have scrolling through the tabs?

No I'm actually just clicking on the little scroll control thats built into Autocad

I just checked with one of the other guys here and the same is happening to him on XP with the same drawings and new ones as well. So either I've got something custom that's funky or something else is up. At least it's not my specific pc.

Wow, I never use them, but they are disabled on my machines for some reason in 09 Vanilla & 09 MEP?
They are there but dark greyed arrows unable to click.

They become "enabled" when the number of tabs/space taken up by them is greater than your screen width. Add a bunch of layouts or layouts with long names and they should become "enabled"
