Topic: Custom Menu won't stay loaded.

I've created a custom pull down menu for plotting drawings using various plot styles.

I've installed it using menuload, placed the menu file in the support directory. and it works fine.

Till I re-start autocad that is, then the menu is no longer loaded and i have to re-load it again.

What am I doing wrong?

Is it part of the .dwt file that you are using?

no.

each command on the pull down menu is linked to a script file which sets up the plotter, uses the appropriate PC3 file and then plots the drawing.

The menu works fine, it just won't stay loaded.

Incidentally it doesn't stay loaded on 2000 or LT2000.

After you load the menu go to Options>Profiles.....then set the profile current (or double click on it). Also, mkae sure that this menu location is in your support paths.

For some reason, the menuload isn't written to the profile unless you set the profile to current

You can see what menus are loaded in the registry under:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R15.0\ACAD-1:409\Profiles\your profile name\Menus]

Tried that, as soon as i clcik on the profile and make it current, my menu disappears.

Humor me. Load the menu in your .dwt file and use that file whenever you open a new drawing.Bet that fixes the problem. Everyone seems to want to put everything in the profile, but there are some things that seem to work better whenever a .dwt file is employed.

tried it and still no juice.

BUT
Found a fix on a web site though, apparently when AutoCAD compiles the MNS file it sometimes adds a path to the mns file.  
***menugroup=c:\.....

if you delete the path the menus seem to hold.

I've shut down 3 times and this seems to have got it.
