Issue with shutting down AutoCAD
« on: January 07, 2008, 10:22:08 PM »
I have been having an issue of lately with shutting down my AutoCAD at the end of the day. It take forever to close out a drawing. I never save drawings I am reviewing because I am an estimator now, so I am just reviewing and estimating in AutoCAD. But when I go to close out a drawing or two, it takes a good five minutes to shut down. I'm linked to two databases at one time when I work. The estimating database and the drawing file database. Does anyone think those could be hampering the process?

I think it well could be part of your problem at least.  I was finding a similar problem on shutdown from Civil 3D that was traced to Vault.  I didn't even know it was functional on my machine let alone using it, but with Vault removed the slow shutdowns instantly went away.

I'll check with the software guys on my estimating database plug to see if there's a way to speed things up there or something. At least this kind of gives me a starting point to look at, So many thanks for that.

Thanks for welcoming back. I have missed the conversations with the group!
