XREF layers on/off
« on: May 19, 2004, 05:06:54 PM »
Im kinda troubled here.....

I have a Xref Schematic with a demo layer turned off. They Xref multiple dwgs....

On one dwg I leave the demo layer turned off....

On another I have it turned on.....

My question is on some drawings I save the dwg with the demo layer turned on.... but when I open it the demo layer is turned off..... It must be a variable or something cause this only occurs on some drawings....

Its prolly something real easy.... can some one explain this???

Thanks.....

When you turn it off, it is off. When you turn it on, it is on. Next question.

not sure if Im saying this right.....

My xref demo layer is off.... Drawing "A" & "B" use it as a Xref

Drawing "A" leaves it off

Drawing "B" has it on, but when I save, close, then open the same dwg.... the layer is turned off....... I cant get it to save the layer changes....

Am I making any sense??????

Is the demo layer on or off in the xref dwg?  I *THINK* visretain=1 will solve your problem but you might try turning demo on in the xref.....

Yup that does the trick....... :dood:

Wierd though....

On the drawing that worked and saved its changes... VISRETAIN had a variable of "0"....

But on the ones that wouldnt save I had to change the variable to "1"......

Anywho, Thanks

To answer you T-Bear, the demo layer is off in the Xref dwg...
