2004 & 2002 on same win2k machine

Ok,
i know some have ventured to the next release of 2004. I also know not many of you are running Windows 2000. If you have, have you sucessfully loaded 2004 onto a machine that already has 2002 loaded?
Our great IT people here can't get it to run. There are a bunch of error's that occur. 2004 will run, but it kills 2002.

if you know something let me know as I need as much info as I can find.

Thanks,
pieter

I have successfully used multiple versions of every release since R12, at one time I had R12, R13, R14, A2k, and A2k2 loaded and could use any one of them I wanted at any time.

One of the issues with 2004, is the upgrading of object enablers for such packages as LDD and ADT, but I suppose it COULD work provided the files were maintained seperately.

I'm only running Acad 2000 but I installed the demo of 2004 and they ran successfully alongside each other on Win2000.
If IT installed it they haven't done something stupid like installing in the same directory have they ?

We have no problems with 2000 and 2004 running side by side either. It's great to be able to open them both at the same time and not conflicts/crashes.

I think keith hit our problem. When they did 2004 they included a bunch of stuff for ADT and other vertical platforms. Not sure how well they kept things in their own place.
We'll see what they come up with on the second time around.

Thanks!

I just loaded 2004 demo on an "AutoCAD clean" computer so as to see its contents before I go and screw everything up on my CAD computer. I haven't goten very far as I am trying to "Sell" my music on a website this morning (Yeah, I'm, REALLY hurtin fer money), and I have a P/T conference at my daughters school later. OK, enough about my day, I will let you know what happens later when I load 2004 over 2000 on Win 98 if that helps. I may even load my copy 2002 then try loading 2004 just to see some sparks fly.

I've had both 2k2 and 2k4 on a Win98 machine, with no problems. Of course, I didn't try it out to any great extent, but I was able to open it and draw a little. 2k4 is not designed for anything less than Win2000 though and was designed specifically to work with WinXP.

I had some issues when first installing 2004 on XP Pro and had to uninstall and reinstall, but since then I have had no problems.
