Vport layer lock
« on: October 17, 2005, 07:40:26 AM »
Does anyone know of a way to "lock" the layer status of a viewport? When others add layers to an xref'd drawing the layers show up in the vports of the drawing I'm working with. A lot of times I am unaware of the changes so I don't freeze the offending layer, and I end up having to replot. Sure would be nice to avoid a waste of time and paper.

But sometimes you also need the new information, if the layers are frozen, you can't see the changes.

Set the XREFNOTIFY system variable to 2 and you'll be warned when the xref has changed. That should be a warning to check for changes.
The number of minutes between checking for modified xrefs is controlled by the system registry variable XNOTIFYTIME.
