HVAC Draughting packages
« on: September 19, 2006, 10:55:00 AM »
I'm looking for a good 2D draughting package for HVAc work in AutoCAD 2007.

I've looked at a few but haven't seen any I liked that I can use with 2007, Andrea's Sduct looks good, but isn't fully compliant yet.
CAElink, looks ok, but I think it's only imperial, we work only in metric.

Can anyone recommend a good 2D HVAC draughting package.

I wrote a parametric AutoLisp HVAC program many years ago that a few consulting engineers are still using (remarkably enough).

You would have to adjust the data files for metric and create your own menu. If you want it, I'll try to find the old 3 1/2" floppy its copied on.

Yikes! I actually found them: 1990 / 1991 files.

PM me your email address and I'll zip them to you. Do you want the 2d orthographic piping stuff too?

The HVAC stuff looks like it uses a running main and reducing sizes as the actual duct widths. The piping is similar but uses some data files to get it's dimensions.

Good luck and your pretty much on your own...

It's just such a shame that we can't all use Building Systems..  ^-^

Draftek,
I dabble in 2D piping and am interested in any piping programs.
Could you do us a favor and post your programs?

thanks,
