(AutoCAD LT) Block Properties to Attributes
« on: January 20, 2009, 11:59:35 AM »
In AutoCAD LT 2009 what I'd like to do is take specific properties and make them attributes for extraction or extract just the specific properties.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated for I am new to AutoCAD LT.

And look into fields in attributes for retrieving those properties prior to extraction.

I have set some of the fields to attributes, however the extracted space or comma delimited file is empty, is there something (probably simple) that I'm missing?  I set a tag on two of the attributes and called them in my template file like it said in the help topic, which I have attached.

Have you defined each attribute to refer to a field containing the wanted property?

What is the current FIELDEVAL setting?

The current FIELDEVAL setting is 31.  I do have the attributes defined to fields.

Allow me to restate, I have defined the attributes in the Block Editor, however they do not show when I take the block from my custom tool palette and put it into the drawing.

I figured out that my main issue was with the fact that I pulled the blocks from another drawing and then never saved those block definitions in that drawing.  So I can now extract the data that I want, but is there a way for me to add titles to the columns of data, I'm importing this into Excel.

ACAD LT 2009 may let you link a TABLE to Excel with a DATALINK.
