Plotting from PDFs
« on: March 09, 2006, 08:13:57 AM »
We have an ancient xerox 8830 plotter. Recently we have started sending PDFs to be printed from it. It doesnt plot the whole of the drawing frame out. - It misses about 6inches off the edge.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you rectify it.

Many thanks
Tracey :-)

Changed title sorry!

what driver are you using?
Everyone has a photographic memory, Some just don't have film.
They say money can't buy happiness, but it can buy Bacon and that's a close second.
Sometimes the question is more important than the answer. (Thanks Kerry for reminding me)

Tracey, one thing you can try is to setup your printer as the Windows default system printer, then try replotting the PDF.

This varies from machine to machine as there are different os and cad systems on the machines... would that make a difference? Could you have the same driver on all machines.

If you have all the drivers on the network computer it doesn't matter what os or cad system but it does matter what version of adobe

Depending if there are images or any type of graphic in the PDF's, you will want to make sure that the driver you are using for the 8830 is a posctscript driver.

(at my old place of employment) We had a pair of 8830's for the 8 years I was there and just last month they were replaced with a pair of Oce's
