LT Text Issue
« on: May 26, 2008, 12:29:23 PM »
Our CAD staff use AutoCAD 2008 Vanilla, and our engineers use LT 2007.

Whenever an engineer opens a drawing created by the CAD staff, the text has lost it's formatting.
Notes which were bulleted lose their indents, right justified text becomes left justified.

This is a pain because it means engineers cannot plot any drawing, so if no CAD staff are available, plots can't be done.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?

If all they are doing is plotting, why are they saving?  I know it doesn't help.

Yes Andy, install a network version of the real thing for the occasion when they must PUBLISH the job without autodesks non forward, backward, or product interoperability issues wreaking havoc on your data. Or you may need to upgrade your LT.

And then when the user of the real version are not there to plot, they can, and it wont be a problem as no one is using the real cad license at that time.

The problem is when they plot a drawing, the formatting is gone, so bulleted notes aren't indented anymore, and quite frankly it looks terrible when they send out PDFs to site looking so bad.

So tell them to quit exploding everything!  ;)

Do you have a version of Vanilla 2007?  Not that it would prove anything, but...

I think the textstyle is redefined somewhere in LT.

Text editing changed a bit in 2008 (specifically with the addition of columns), but I wouldn't have thought that would affect indents. Can you post/send a sample file with misbehaving text?

Kate the user should send or post TWO files for you to examine.
The original and the converted so that you can really dig into the cause, effect, and effect a solution if possible.
