Copying Entities from closed drawing
« on: September 15, 2015, 05:58:30 PM »
Is it possible to copy entities from a closed drawing and paste them in the current drawing? For instance, if I have a legend that I want to use, that is not a block, but I know the coordinates of the area I want to copy. Can I have it copy the info then paste it in my current drawing at the same coordinates?

More than likely, it is possible with code.

Probably could have did it manually tons of time in the time it took me to write this response. I think I do it in my sleep from time to time. Right click menu is great for this.

There is no getting around that something has to read those bits and make sense of them.

When you insert, use design center etc.... it still has to stream those bits through something.

So no it has to open it some fashion.
