Wipeouts not wiping
« on: December 21, 2005, 07:49:55 AM »
Does anyone use wipeouts?

I know in previous releases of AutoCad there was a problem with wipeouts not maintaining draworder in a viewport.  I am still having this issue in 2006.

Can someone else out there in 2006 verify this for me?

I never had a problem till today (Ver 05)
When using "text mask" on a single text the text seems to have been deleted. I window the area to do a draworder and only the line is selected, like the text is gone.
Text mask on a Mtext is no problem.
I just changed all these labels from Mtext to Dtext, (I like changing the text then slam the return button) now I gatta go back  :-(
Ideas?
<edit>
(Hope I didn't steal your thread, I'm thinkin of text mask the same as a wipeout)

Along those lines:
Why does mask "sometimes" move with a text, sometimes not?. It can be very irratating to find out a mask has been astray. No wipeouts should be left behind (note to self: need camo smiley)

If you set "pickstyle" to 3, the mask will follow the text when you move the text.

I like that  :-D

you would think a textmask would know it's boundary and take it with itself without chaging a variable.

and I don't know how "Pickstyle" would control a textmask boundary unless it is treating it like a hatch...

Pickstyle seems to work!
Thanks All

Ideas about the dfference between Dtext and Mtext, I'd almost swear I've masked both without a problem?

The mask moves with text when pickstyle=1 so it must treat it like a group

Could be because PICKSTYLE is a system and not a document variable. If you adjust it, then it stays where you set it globally until you change it. It doesn't change from drawing to drawing.

Pickstyle was the trick as far as the mask moving with the text, so that prob is solved, but I still have the problem of Text Mask that works with Mtext but seems to delete the same line when it is a sinlge line text.
I'll try another dwg

I have had the same problem with wipeouts, but only when I plot. To the plotter, to dwf or anything.
