I am still looking for a routine that can do all the work for me
I once wrote a quick and dirty lisp that made it look like I was working when I was not. That way I could get some sleep!!
Now if one of use wrote a lisp that would do the work for us, we would be out of work!

Your Boss thinks he has found it.

Most of them that I or anybody else here creates that I find a use for. I can't believe the stone age some people still live in and think that Autocad out of the box is a productive program.
-
Well, the term 'Productive' is relative, I think...I hate to think what unproductive is to these people...

Try this:
The floor:
1 = Me
2 = other cad guy and designer
1. We're using xref's and you need to freeze x amount of layers in x amount of viewports.
2 . We could go to the layer dialog and freeze each layer.
1. I can create a function that will allow you to select the object and it'll freeze it for you.
2 . But, we could go to the layer dialog and freeze each layer.
1. Why would you want to do that. I can make this job easier on you. You wouldn't need to even know what the name of the layer is. You just select the object you want to NOT see and it's frozen.
2 . But, we could go to the layer dialog and freeze each layer.
I give up on explaining things sometimes. I just need to make it happen, so they'll see the benefits.

Let's deflect all replies to that one to The Vent.
I feel your pain. That attitude is absolutely everywhere...it's like a plague!

Not a problem. I HAVE the power.

yep been having that "conversation alot around here lately. i submit at least one shop drawing every other day numbering at least 10 sheets each time. we have to print a minimum of 6 sets. the way they do it is they make one set then make six copies using the scanner. with the plottabs i can do it in three clicks. a half hour at least versus 15 seconds every other day i save. but walls don't have ears

I have a simple plot routine that saves hours of plotting time for a person, you simply select the project folder that you want to plot and it plots all of the drawings in that folder for you, the copy count you want, and spools them to the plotter server so that you can simply go back to work in a minute or so.... then when you are ready you simply go to the plotter and pick up your plans....
