Thought this might be fun for a few folks here.
Legal:
All that part of Lots 8 and 9 in Block 12 of Estates Subdivision, according to map or plat thereof recorded in Plat Book A99, page 999, of the Public Records of Hillsborough County, Florida, lying North of a line parallel to and 5 feet measured perpendicularly, Southerly from the South boundary line of the eight foot utility easement shown upon said map or plat running East and West between said Lots 8 and 9 and Lot 7 of said Block.

**edit** removed "blue" text

I don't understand your point...
-
The text in (very hard to read with Helios) blue describes a new easement accross the lots. Mark wants someone to figure out where that new easement should be drawn.
-
Sounds like it was written by a lawyer. :-)
-
I'm not the sharpest knife in the kitchen, but that makes no sense...then again I'm a s s u m i n g North is to the top.
Is there a N arrow?
-

Worse.........surveyors
:lmao: :lmao:
-
I assumed north to the top. Here is some incentive - Dent will likely stop by over lunch . . . if there is no answer by then and he gets it right we will never hear the end of it.
-
Holy crap that's confusing. I thought south 5 feet from the easement ( from 8' to 13' from lot line).
-
Offset the southern line of the 8' easement by 5' and you got your new easement.
This part just says where the existing easement is.
Legal:
shown upon said map or plat running East and West between said Lots 8 and 9 and Lot 7 of said Block.
This says where to put it and how big.

If they had put it the way you quoted it would have been much easier to read and understand but
lying North of a line parallel to and........
they didn't.
-
Great news Greg, I think you are qualified to work with Dent. You want I should PM him and let him know there is a promising young guy that understands legal descriptions and easements hanging out in TheSwamp?
Good answer, the verbage was a bit more confusing than necessary but you cut through it like a pro!
PS
Maverick was right also, but he had inside information.

I just got a scary chill down my spine.

You don't like Dent much do you?
-
And yes - Greg is right!
-
. . . You don't like Dent much do you?
I was just going for one more pull on YOUR chain. The only way I would seriously try to get you two working together is if were . . . selling tickets . . . hmm . . .

Sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

Well all in all, not bad for a lowly architectural draftsman.

Well all in all, not bad for a couple of non Adesk using lowly architectural draftsmen.
:-D

And I thought it would be unbearable around here if DENT posted the right answer first. :-P
Oh, the shame and humiliation ! ! ! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Actually, that looks like it was written by a bad surveyor. I had no trouble understanding it, but I would never have written it.

Give yourself a raise...You deserve it :-)

I would hire Greg in a minute, but I don't know if I could get him off DoodooCad.
-
Oh, that would never be an issue. I use whatever CAD program the company uses.
You couldn't hit my salary expectations and living in Mississippi isn't tantilizing.
-
Dood. They have Funyuns there too.

yeah, but those hurricane thingy's. I'll take a tornado any day! Nothing like last minute scuttling to the basement. Who want's days and days to know a storm is coming?

How does not knowing of impending danger make it better? :-)
Do you have time to prepare for anything?

There is enough time to duck before the flying cow hit's you.

Oh, I imagine we could. now realize that we are 100+ miles away from the coast. The hurrivcanes usually don't hit here. Last year was an exception. in so many ways. PLUS, the hunting and fishing. Bass Pro shop is less than a mile away.

Well if that is the case...

Cabela's is right next to you isn't it Greg?
Not that I don't want him to move farther away....

About 15 miles away.
Not that it matters. I don't fish or hunt.

Uh Oh . . . this puts a whole different light on things Dent . . . sorry :|

Cool! I'd like to see that :-) As long as the cow doesn't get hurt...

That's about the same for Orlando and they told us the same thing when Charley hit us. An amazing event, will never happen again for so many years. Then came Frances, "well this is just unprecedented for 2 hurricanes to hit Orlando". Then came Jeanne.
About the only thing you can say about a hurricane is that They are always unpredictable!

I could not possibly relate to someone that does not fish or hunt. I think that once the state found out about that they would revoke his visa.
-
Now don't get me wrong...
For fishing, I don't enjoy eating fish enough to warrent going out and trying to catch it. If I do fish, it's with a bobber and a can of beer, snoozing under my hat.
As for hunting, I'd really like to get into it, but the cost for the guns and ammo is not something I'm willing to spend right now. That and I really don't want to keep guns in the house. Even locked up. Granted I could keep them at the in-laws (they hunt), but it comes back to the cost.
I do think I make a pretty good shot though. That's all speculation really.

I never thought of beer for bait :-o - that thought is leading into some very interesting tangents

Man, you give the in-laws your guns, you best worry about being a good target instead of a good shot! :lmao:

Blue Ribbon or Ole Milwaukee?

Dude! If I had a choice of visiting my parents or the in-laws, I usually pick the in-laws. They don't have the big mansion, but what they do have sure is living in the lap of luxury!
-
I had great in-laws myself. They always treated me as well or better than their own kids . . . still wouldn't give 'em my guns though.
