Title: Attributes disappear
Post by: banner on May 18, 2009, 11:58:36 AM
Hello everyone, first post here, I hope I'm clear enough with my question.

My problem is when our surveyor's bring in the shots to C3D, the attributes that come in with those points (inserting csv file) only stay with the points in the initial drawing session.  By that I mean when the drawing is saved and closed, the attributes no longer show up when the drawing is reopened, and I have to delete the shots and reimport them to see the attributes again.

Has anyone else had an issue similar to this?

Are you saying that the point labels STOP reading your user defined properties? (attributes)
After you close and reopen the file?
However, in that same file if you then re-import/overwrite the files they show up?

May I have a copy of one of the afflicted files?

Have you tried to RECOVER the drawing prior to importing the points?  Does this same behavior happen in a new, clean, empty drawing?

This is exactly what's happening.  I will email you the dwg, fbk, and csv.

You speak of a Civil Discussion board, but I can't seem to find that board...mind pointing me in the right direction?

OK,

RECOVER has no effect on the attributes being dumped.

This is an Item you should bring directly to your autodesk dealer as a MAJOR headache.

The work around absent a 'check points' from project features is to Re-import your CSV file and chose the OVERWRITE option.  Sadly you will need to do this EVERY time you open a drawing and want or need to use the attribute information.

It will be interesting to see your vendors response.
