Creating Plot files for an HP 750 plotter
« on: March 18, 2004, 01:00:54 PM »
We are trying to create plot files for a job to send to a printing company.  They are saying that some of the text in our border isn't showing up in the correct spot.  I checked all the text that they said is incorrectly showing up, and the only thing that is constant between them is their width factor of 1.0.  Most of our other text has a width factor of 0.9, which shows up correctly.  They said the driver we're using is the correct driver for their plotter.  We can't take the chance just changing the width factor of the text in the border, because if we miss something important in the drawing that has a 1.0 width factor, it'd be our fault.

Has anyone ever ran into this problem?  The guy there said we can use a higher driver than the plotter is.  They are using a HP 750 plotter, but the only driver we could find was for a 755CM.  They said that would work fine, but it obviously isn't.  And to top it off, just like every other thing that goes wrong, we need the prints by tomorrow morning.  3 plans, 14 sheets each, 3 sets each...126 sheets total...not something I really feel like making in house...HELP!!!

Try this web site It seems to have the
correct driver for what you need and should solve your
problem.

Thank you everyone for all your input.  Turns out it really doesn't matter what plotter we use, because they print on an Oce, not an HP like they told us to get the driver for.  They said they have clients get the HP driver because it's easier to find (if they say so).  So we just made the plot files like we do for another printer (Oce 9600) and it was fine.  Thanks again.

Those people are just brilliant aren't they.  And how long have they been in business.......
