Can you insert an .ecw (image file) file in LT '05?

if not Global Mapper will convert them to a usable format...

isn't this the Lizard Tech format?  In the past installing their product (demo version) would then enable loading their file types into Land Desktop and Map....however LT being what it is...YMMV

Doubt it -- pre-2009 you couldn't attach images at all (or at least the workaround was gone then), so your only option was copy-paste or OLE.

'usable' as in keeping the georeference bits in tact?

FYI, Bricscad V10 will read .ecw files.

as in to another file format...
the geo portion will most likely be of no use to LT...however I think the answer is yes...

So what happened with the release of 2010.  We installed the object enabler, http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=13170708&linkID=9240818 , for 2010LT but we are not able to see any images!  So what else could be wrong?
Did they go and break a good thing!?!?

Yes I know.  If you go to the ACAD LT services and support section that is the link that they provide you. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/index?siteID=123112&id=2334440&linkID=9240818  figure that one out?!?

I know that MEP will not work for us but this was how we were able to view images last year.  It would be a shame that they would strip that funcionality out of the object enabler.

no worse than say, MAP not being able query ANY civil 3D objects  [from my perspective]

a shame none the less

So does anyone know of a fix for the object enabler that will not work in ACAD LT?

Being able to see images in LT is not related to object enablers. Instead of pursuing that path, tell us exactly what's happening and what you expect to happen, with as many details related to setup & process as possible.

Last year was the 1st year that we were able to see any aerial images using ACAD LT.  We installed the software the same as last year and now we do not have the ability to view any of our aerial image files.  We tried to install the object enabler, a box came up stating that it had installed, we were still not able to view the image files.  Just a side note that most of our image files are MrSID files.

When did the enablers not allow you to view the images?  My understanding was this was the way to view an image file.  If the object enablers are not what allows us to view the image files then what does?  We would like to know so we can fix our problem.

Thanks for the help
