Is there a way to edit the width factor of an mtext entity...

like you do a ED on the mtext and change the width besides the object properties...

Do you mean manually, such as by opening the properties window and changing the width of the mtext in there, or programmatically, such as by setting the Mtext object's width property?

I think he means the "width factor" property of single-line text -- I don't know of a way to set that for individual mtext entities, though.

Yeah, never tried to do that.  A brief look seems to indicate that it isn't possible to do directly.  However, you could always define a text font with the desired width factor, and use it in your mtexts...

It looks like you can adjust the width if you use a text editor other than the default editor.  You can then use the formatting codes found in the help under "Format Multiline Text in an Alternate Text Editor".

The normal multitext editor will complain if you then try and edit one of these mtexts.
