(Microstation) Width of a Smartline
« on: August 27, 2007, 06:24:01 PM »
I'm working a dgn file that has been converted from AutoCad.
My best guess is the plines have been given a width, because now in MS when I place a smartline it is ~ 1/8" thick. I don't see any options on smartline, when placing or under element format.

How do I get the smartlines back to 0 width?

Just a guess....

If you go under Element-Line Styles-Custom, you can change the origin and end width of lines (this is also where to change the scaling of line styles).

Let me know if this works out - this is a problem I have not yet run into, but we do our fair share of conversion work here, and I'm interested.

Don't know.... but I remember when using IMS 4.0 and 5.0 - there was a little letter size manual with all the short cuts and descriptions of each command.... sorry, all what I did in this app..... is 100% forgot/lost...

BTW, are you the only one in your office using this app?

Awesome! Thanks.
I did notice the Element Line Styles, but never thought of..........plines as "custom". Thats the ticket!

No problem atall. I'm just glad I could help someone else, being as that I'm usually on the receiving end of said help.

And you're right, it does get pretty lonely in here.

OK, months later and now I need the reverse.

Going back to element>line styles custom and setting the "continuous" to a origin and end width of 5' is not working

How would one draw a line 5' in width?  (Showing asphalt in profile, exaggerated scale)
