(Microstation) tool settings box
« on: May 23, 2007, 08:26:32 AM »
I have been working on V8 constantly for the past 5 months. Yesterday something changed (or I changed something) Now my "tool settings" box no longer stays visible, and instead of being in one place on my screen, it now moves to hover near the command I picked. Me no-likey :-x Being "old school" I've always been used to having the tool-settings in one place, not covering other commands on the toolbars.

How could this change, and how would I change this back.

This could be caused by several things (and a few more that I don't know about still).
dgnlib gets altered (first guess), any of the numerous .cfg and/or.ucf/.upf gets altered.
Your tool interface is "controlled" by the workspace.

Good luck!

I believe you hit the popset button. Look for either a green button or a red button (toolbar button).
Since it is hiding, it should be green. It is located in the Primary Tool Toolbar.
For some reason, I had a "popset" toolbar with just the one button.
And now it's gone...

Pieter, you are a genius.

We had some changes to the workspace, and the toolbars werent the same as before. The popset cured the problem.

Thanks
