Title: Toolbars wont stay where I put them
Post by: Luke on April 02, 2008, 08:09:01 AM
Using Full Version Vanilla 2006.  My toolbars will not stay where I put them.  Is there a way to get them to stay?

Do you mean that when you start a new session of AutoCAD, they aren't where they were when you closed last?
Or, you are moving them by accident when clicking on buttons?

I'm in the process of making the big jump from 2002 to MEP2008 and had the same issue. I'm not sure if workspaces were intoduced yet in 2006 but this is from MEP2008 help.

1.    In the drawing area, arrange a drawing environment by moving, deleting, or displaying those toolbars and dockable windows you want to preserve for future use.
2.    Click Window menu   Workspaces  Save Current As....
3.    In the Save Workspace dialog box, enter a name for the new workspace or select a name from the drop-down list.
4.    Click Save.

Several things could be wrong.
Do you use a network version?
Are your menus shared?
Have you tried to save your profile?
Do you have an /arg file imported when you click the shortcut link?

they all stay put on my machine, it's my 2 neighbors that they don't stay where they put them.  None of us are using workspace.

Non-Network
the toolbars that won't stay put are on menus that are not shared
they have tried saving their profile
not sure how to determine if an ARG file is imported when clicking shortcut link?

I've had that happen to docked palettes after a crash. For some reason, it effects them. Annoying.
