Dent, thanks for your help with this. This is the output that I need. Is this process very labor intensive?

Only if you don't know how to do it. :D

Mark just gave the perfect answer !! Like I said, what I posted took me 10 or 15 minutes. it's not complete. Still need contour labels and spot shots, but then I've been dragging contour lines for probably longer than you have been alive. Can you be taught to do it ? Sure. But is your company ready to spring for that cost?
I can crank out open area topos like that all day long for $30 or $40 a pop. You'd have to have 100 of them to make a good contour pack worth buying. Find someone in your area that does it and farm it out if you have just a few to do. That's really the only cost effective answer I can give you. (or send them to me!!)

Mark and Dent,

Thanks for your help on this. I'll get back to you both when I'm deeper into this project.

Dent.....I'll talk to "the powers above" and see how much time will want to be spent learning this stuff. You may have some sidework coming.

Thanks again,

Ron

8) Ron....if all you need to do is add contours from a point "TXT" file to dwg ?
I have an ARX that creates contours from txt files
(ie. a txt file x,y,z values) it can also create 3D terrain from this aswell.

Ronjonp. I dropped a drawing "knappf.dwg" in your folder in the Lily Pond. If you can get the lisp routine to output something that looks like that drawing file, then you've got a winner.
