Unresolved Xref
« on: November 13, 2008, 03:45:07 PM »
On 1 of 3 user's computers one xref does not load automatically.  The xref manager says the xref is "unresolved".  On the other two computers it works fine.  Is there some obscure variable or something within the file that would prevent it from being loaded?  I don't think there is.  That would be pretty stupid, even for Autodesk.

The drawing has been purged & audited and cleaned as much as possible.

Anyone have any ideas?

Network drive mapped to a different letter on one computer?
Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.

Nope.... the other xrefs are located on the same drive AND the same folder.

Update: I just used the AECTOACAD (AKA ExportToAutoCAD) command to basically obliterate the file down to it's most basic components and now it works!

Thanks for nothing, people (except you Tracey)!!

Quote from: AutoCAD Help File
Use this procedure to export a drawing created in the software to AutoCAD. This process creates a new AutoCAD drawing with all AEC objects exploded. The original drawing is not affected.

Depending on the size and complexity of the original drawing, the resulting AutoCAD drawing may contain a large number of primitive objects, which can affect drawing performance.

Man...you didn't even give me a chance to say it's because of crappy software.   :-D

No...there is always a need to state the obvious.  Else a bunny bashes his face in.
