Anybody want full AU Online access?
« on: April 15, 2009, 03:25:58 PM »
Although anyone can sign up for AU Online for free and get access to handouts & such, some AU content (like recordings of presentations) is restricted for a year to subscription customers and that year's attendees.

But I just got an e-mail (as part of a blast to AU 2008 people, I think) that I can send to 5 people and give them full access to all the content even without Subscription or attending AU.

So if you want in, send me a PM and I'll send you the e-mail.

Don't know if anybody will, but I thought I'd offer. :-)

(And please, no gripes in here about what content is free/restricted/whatever. I have nothing to do with it, and whatever we say here won't change a thing. So if you want access the content, let me know -- and if not, just move on to the next thread...)

It's the same access I get for being subscription customer?  If so, no.  If there's anything beyond... maybe: if not enough non-subscription folks ask after a while.

I use the AU Online videos/handouts quite often for trying to learn new things or improve skills more in existing areas... it's been a real treat.

(thanks for asking here!)

Thanks Kate, this will let me see if those one or two classes I do NOT go to each year, would actually justify going.

Wow, you guys are fast! All my invitations are now spoken for, but I know I'm not the only Swamper who should have gotten this e-mail...if anybody else did and has some invitations to spare, speak up -- they'll go to good use here!

Eh?  I was unaware of that particular perk.  How do I access the content?

Thanks Michael.  I haven't encountered any attempt by that site to verify that I am a subscription customer.

I'm still a little confused.  As Kate mentioned, I can access some of the materials freely, but I have to pay if I want to watch a screencast of a class.

How do I inform the system that I am a subscription customer so that I can access everything?  I didn't see any options for that in the profile section.

Is that true?

If so, it's damn wrong.
