Mtext Editor 2006 typing glitch?
« on: April 21, 2015, 04:04:22 PM »
OK, today the mtext editor is displaying ? when I type.
I switched to oldeditor via MTEXED  and it worked fine but switching back to internal I still have the problem.
Restarted the computer & no joy, do i need to Repair ACAD?

Enter new value for FONTALT, or . for none <"simplex.shx">:

Opened another file & same problem.
Did a ACAD Repair.
Attached is the characters I get while typing.

Are you sure that part of the text does not have a style hardcoded? What happens when you type something at the end of the last paragraph?

When I type at the end I get no display or progress.
When I start a new mtext object I type & nothing is displayed and cursor stays at the beginning.

I can insert a symbol from the pull down menu but anything I type gives those  .? characters
and yes each one moves up by a dot height.  Very strange. When I close the edit box the .? characters disappear along with anything after them.

I changed my FontAlt to RomanS.shx  no joy.

OK here is a clew I think. Original object:
Select entity to list.
Code: [Select]
#<VLA-OBJECT IAcadMText2 0f2b1f94>
(-1 . <Entity name: 7ee96020>)
(0 . "MTEXT")
(330 . <Entity name: 7ee70c10>)
(5 . "F734")
(100 . "AcDbEntity")
(67 . 0)
(410 . "Model")
(8 . "FJ1_TEXT")
(100 . "AcDbMText")
(10 1427.15 1334.57 0.0)
(40 . 4.0)
(41 . 0.0)
(71 . 1)
(72 . 5)
(1 . "2nd FLOOR LEVEL\\P")
(7 . "RomanS")
(210 0.0 0.0 1.0)
(11 1.0 0.0 0.0)
(42 . 43.581)
(43 . 4.0)
(50 . 0.0)
(73 . 1)
(44 . 1.0)

Command:
Command:
Command: _.mtedit
Command: MYENTGET

After I try and edit it:
A dxf -3 has been added

Code: [Select]
Select entity to list.
#<VLA-OBJECT IAcadMText2 0f2b1f94>
(-1 . <Entity name: 7ee96020>)

Odd, I use the Autocaps function with no issues for some time now. Wide spread glitch only affecting a few people?

I think this is related to what font is in the style, not the Autocaps function itself
