I have one designer working on different projects requiring her to work in both 2002 and 2005 for the time being (DONT ASK)
the custom MNS files are in the 2002 support/custom folder and are loaded- however when I go to move a custom menu bar onto the list (which is pop3 in the MNS) It is not there???????
are the support paths getting confused since she is running both (this happens wheather or not they are both open)

Hey CottageC
If I am understanding you correctly, both .mns files are in the 2002 directory? If this is the case, you don't want that.
Here's what I would do, leave the .mns file for the 2002 menu where it is,
put the 2005 .mns file in a 2005 support/custom folder.
Them you will need a support path for each directory. After that you should be OK. Also, make sure both menugroups have different names to be safe.

Hey Cottage,
I wanted to make one correction,
First off, are these The ACAD menus we are talking about?
YOu should not have to change the menu names, but you must do as I described earlier, different folders with seperate support paths.
Let me know how you make out

yes, it is AutoCad-sorry thought this section was just for Autocad
there are duplicate MNS files one each in the 2002/support/custom and 2005/support/custom folders respectively
when she loads either 2002 or 2005 the generic menu's come up
we use our custom menu's alot so this is a pain
????? :?

Hi Cottage,
Yes, The Frum is ACAD but you could have different menus with different names that you use in ACAD.
OK, so what I am getting from you is that you have a custom.mns file and an acad.mns file in each folder (directory) correct?
It sounds like you don't want the acad.mns file to load since you use your custom menu, is that correct also?
If this is the case, you can type menuload, then unload the acad menu from within acad, or you could remove the support path that points to it and it won't load.
You could also move the acad.mns file somewhere else but I am not sure I would recommend that. I would work with the support paths

in each custom folder, I have a MNC, MNR and a customized MNS file--(not 2 MNS files) when only 2002 is loaded everything is fine but when both are loaded I have the problems
-
OK, if you wanted, you could actually delete the .mnr and mnc files, they will get recreated everytime you start AutoCAD anyhow.
That might not be a bad idea, at least once.
OK, so let's just talk .mns files
You have a custom file (.mns) in each directory?
Do you have a support apth to each directory? This is a must.
If the problem continues, I would try renaming one of the menus (open the file) menugroup = newname
May be name of 2002 nd one 2005
Also, keep in mind that 2005 was very buggy, we just unloaded it altogether, we are getting 2006.

thanks-I'll see if it helps...

Hey CottageC, did it work?
-
Sorry for no response, but I have not had time to work on it --since only one person is affected, she is working around it....the cure is worse than the illness
we should all be converting to 2005 soon, so hopefully it wont be an issue, but when the dust settles, I am going to look at it -just for the pure problem solving challenge
I will keep you up to date

Cool, definetely let me know
Thanks
