Hi,..
Another thing...
In a drawing the XREF won'T BIND or DETACH...
WWWHHHYYY !!! ???
-
It may be referenced by another xref in the drawing.
If drawing "PEANUT" has drawing "BUTTER" attached as an XREF,
then drawing "PEANUT" is attached to drawing "JELLY", it'll bring "BUTTER" with it.
"BUTTER" can not be bound or detached from"JELLY", until it is detached (or overlaid) from drawing "PEANUT", and "PEANUT" is reloaded in drawing "JELLY"
-
...But im hungry NOoW!?
-
yea...me too...
But there is no "PEANUT" xref in the "BUTTER" xref...
and no other xref in any other "JELLY"...
heun !?

Does your xref appear in more place in your file?
You can not bind or detach an xref if it is copied more than once in your file.

You can have copies of the same xref just not on multiple paperspace tabs.

Will it result in a circular reference to a block in the xref and the current drawing?

Autocad will usually give you hints on why the Xref won't bind.
If you give us the error message you get, that may help solve the problem.
Also, try some of the following to fix the problem...
-use the tree view in the ‘Xref’ manager to see the locations of the problem xref and in which drawings it occurs.
-bind individual xrefs one at a time, to isolate the problem drawing.
-try purging and auditing both the xref source and destination drawings.
-you may have to ‘wblock’ the whole ‘Xref’ source drawing to another file then erase the original ‘Xref’ file and rename the new file.
I have a few more tricks, but hopefully yo will solve the problem before then
Hope they help! :)
