Plotting Tiff's or Jpeg's

If you create either Tiff's or Jpg's in AutoCad what printer driver are you using? The default's that come with AutoCad don't have the resolution that I need for a 42x30 drawing or I am doing something wrong...

I know about all the other things such as PDF's and DWF's but right not I had a postscript file that is 488MB in size and Adobe Distiller won't distill it for me :o(...

I'm trying to get a color elevation from 2004 to a client that does not have 2004 and I am a little stumped right now.

Thanks,

Pieter

What version DO they have?
Can't you save it down?

They have 2002 and we are using 2004 for our color elevations since it now has true color capability...
In 2002, the colors default to it's nearest representation with the standard 255 colors...

you must jack the resolution way up for the printer driver. remember the plotter driver is in pixels. look at you monitor, what is the resolution set at, 1280x1024 or some where near that. how big is you monitor, 21".  Now apply that to a monitor that is 42". What's the resolution need to be in pixels.

hope that makes sense :D

mark,

I understand the resolution. The Tiff plot drivers we use in Microstation are between 4k and 6k pixels. The default for the AutoCad drivers stops at 1,600. No where near the resolution I need to be at.

Would my monitor resolution be linked to the AutoCad print driver resolution for either tiff's or jpeg's? I guess I will change my resolution and see what it does.

If it's not linked to my monitor, what other print drivers are out there.

Thanks,

Pieter

you should be able to make your own custom printer driver at what ever resolution you want.
