If you're not registered, you won't know that I found the first (after him) how to get that strange image in Acad 2006.

It is not a block or anything special, just a LWPOLYLINE.
I'm going on the moutains this WE and very soon to bed, so I let you search. Have fun, if possible.

It looks like a bug. It's only a LWPOLYLINE.

Me too.

But you seem not to understand that this image is not obvious. I challenge you to get the same screenshot (not using Photoshop off course), just for fun, not to annoy any of you.

Try to get the same image with only one grip and all the dimensions around and you win the competition. If you don't get that this i s a challenge it must be that you didn't try !

I turned of all of the features in AutoCAD 2006 and now it works like good 'ole R13!! :lmao:

You've got my curiosity really going. This is just one LWPOLYLINE? What does it say when you do a LIST on it, or is that giving away the secret?

Draw a poly then move it from 0,0,0 to 0,0,1e99

It is a famous formula for those who want to "flatten" objects except that you don't run it 'till the end (you don't move back 0,0,0 to 0,0,-1e99)

Then you get this strange image !

In French we give the "tongue" to the cat (strange expression, isn't it ?)... Happy to know that in English, we let him go out of a bag,...cats don't like being in a bag !

I wonder if there is any connection to the English expression "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?" (ususally said to a person who can't find the words to speak).

Even on AutoCAD 2005, you can apply that and to any polyline and get just one grip, nice to move the object and keep his geometry, until one simple remove the elevation to 0.0...

I love to discover languages that way, muh better than scool or than in between non-native conversations. We say, I got the word at the "end" of the tongue in such a case

Don't see the advantage compared to a move in real-time or even using grips/move instead of going thru the whole formula.

And you can plug in the name you are quoting from if an outside source just by
