AI_MOLC - is it still used ??
« on: February 24, 2010, 07:15:41 PM »
I have had this set in my PGP file for a quick key to change to a selected layer.
Never gave it much thought until I had a drawing with text and dimensions on the Paperspace tab.
AI_MOLC does not work in paper space.

Command: ai_molc

** Command only valid in Model space **

Does anyone know why this doesn't work in paper space ??  Does anyone have a work around besides taking the long way and searching for the layer you want ??

Thanks.

How odd. I wonder if it's always been that way. I haven't used ai_molc since I wrote my own (wanted the option to also be able to type the layer name), but when I first started, I used it all the time.

Correction: I just tested it in C3D 2009 and I can execute ai_molc just fine in paperspace. Sounds like something has redefined it. What version of CAD is this?

I think it's laymcur.

It is odd, I don't know why they would restrict it to just the model tab unless it was brought over from R12 DOS and never looked at.  Anyway, I am running ACAD Map3D 2010 fresh out of the box.

I tried 'laycur' with the following response:
Quote
Select objects to be changed to the current layer:

and 'laymcur' with this response:
Quote
Select object whose layer will become current:

Anyway, thank you for your help.  I think I'll change my PGP to reflect 'LAYMCUR' instead of 'AI_MOLC'.

For what it's worth, I have a lisp mapping "CUR" onto "AI_MOLC", but that shows up on the command list as being mapped in turn onto "LAYCUR"
