UCS & Top View problem.

...using 2010 with the view 'top' button & the ucs named *TOP* that it uses seems to be getting corrupted & shifting to an arbitrary point on the x-y. It doesn't happen all the time! I've combated it by adding ucs;; to the button macro but it's a bit disconcerting.

In the view manager for top it has "restore ortho UCS - YES" & "Set Relative to - World". UCSORTHO=1 UCSDETECT=0 but I've tried all sorts of settings alongside 2009 with the same settings but with no probs.

Very odd & something to watch out for.

what happens when you use Alt+V, 3, T 
to set the view to Top using keyboard shortcuts?

Mike - originally that produced the same error  :-( ... but now it uses the same UCS;w; code that I added to the button so it forces the UCS to world... UCS named *TOP* is still off world by 50 or so metres in the x-y.

No, the same... essentially it's the same command... if you go into the CUI & change code in the view-top button it automatically changes it in the menus/view/3dviews/top entry as it references the button...

It's the *TOP* ucsname that's way off world where in 2009 it jumped to world automatically.
