Does anyone know which one would be better for running AutoCAD 2009 on?

It depends on the specs of the machine.

If you are planning to get some work done in the airport I would definitely say Laptop.

Or ......both.

Or ......both.

That would be pretty disgusting-looking, if it weren't for the duct tape.   :-D

I haven't looked up the recommended specifications for 2009. But my initial thought
is that your advanced system would be the more ideal one. Specifically, more ram
and more video.

Decision between laptop or desktop comes down to your usage and the need for
portability. I am using my laptop more and more and I would say within the next
year I will work solely from a laptop. At which point, I'll need something that runs
Autocad MEP or Revit MEP 2009/2010. As well as Navisworks Review or Manager.
I loosely looked at the best dell laptop (in June or 08) and clocked in near $5k  :-o

I have heard from others that HP has some beefier laptops then Dell.
Again, haven't researched it fully.

We have a laptop I use when I need to work from home, I find it quicker than my work PC (but then the spec is much better) The downside is that I end up zooming and panning much more than I do on my work computer. If I could only have access to one, I'd take the laptop, purely for the convenience.
Thanks for explaining the word "many" to me, it means a lot.
