opening two files at the same time
« on: February 29, 2008, 03:38:26 PM »
before you suggest it, i have "acadxtabs", and yes i would recommend it to everyone.

but i loaded a third party landscape software, and then started to configure somethings and poof, xtabs doesnt work.  it is loaded, and i know it didnt change anything in xtabs.

next to the modify window pull down is a window pulldown.  if you open a file, like a plan, then want to open a detail file, there is a setting in autocad that lets you view multiple drawings at the same time.  that is the command that was reset and i cannot for the life of me find the command in help, or in any books i have.

if anyone can remember the command to reset it, please throw it out there to all of us.  once it is reset, then all of us should be able to use the window pulldown to flip from one to the other drawing.  (if you dont use acadxtabs)

please let me know if you remember or can empathize with me....

VIEW multiple drawings?  Like TILE WINDOWS horizontally or vertically??!?  Or do you mean OPEN multiple drawings - in which case look into the SDI variable.

Have you tried contacting the acadxtab's author directly at his web site? If anyone is privy to a solution it would be him.
