Still not entirely convinced that's a justifiable reason.  Maybe I should get security bars on my windows, as someone could break the glass and climb in (did I forget to mention they would have to Spiderman their way up there in the first place?).

These aren't random files off the internet, and they aren't on the users' local computers - they're in a network folder with restricted access as are the stylesheets.  "Uploading it to a host" doesn't make any sense as these aren't HTML files, or even XHTML, but XML data files.  The point of the stylesheet transform is to allow them to be viewed without having to export and host new HTML or other user-friendly format every time the content changes.
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.
