2008 ADT block attribute ?
« on: March 18, 2009, 02:54:17 PM »
I have my furniture blocks..been using for years.....when I open a pre-existing block drawing, I can edit everything using the properties box except for my "value" attribute which is my item number...I can edit all the other att's, shapes and text..just not that one...when I double click on it, it opens the properties box and still won't let me change it..the box is not greyed out...just doesn't let me in, so I have to open it in 2005 to edit it.........what am I missing?!??!?!?!??

It's a constant.

When you say Edit it, do you mean once it's been inserted or when you're IN the block file?

sometimes I need to make a block that is so similar, I just save-as and make my edits......prior to 08 I have been able to change that

if you turn off constant and preset...it still won't edit......? I have always done it that way....what changed?

Hey, it's about time!  MANY times, I've typed up a solution to something, hit Post and "Warning... someone beat you" comes up and quite often, it's you!  So there!  :)

I can enter data to all attributes using the Properties "Pallet"
Is one of your layers locked? or frozen?

I + XI = X is true ...  ... if you change your perspective.

I no longer CAD or Model, I just hang out here picking up the empties beer cans

Did you redefine the block?  Try DDINSERTing it.

Did you redefine the block?  Try DDINSERTing it.

Or insert it into a new drawing to test it.

+

So is that why it does not show up in Prop-Pallet when the block is inserted into a drawing?
I never had a need to have invisble attributes?

that is preferred...but shouldn't affect it's editability...it is our inventory part.....it is extracted into a spread sheet--the room # is inv. as well
