Title: app.config settings..
Post by: vegbruiser on July 26, 2010, 09:22:29 AM
This isn't strictly related to AutoCAD, but perhaps one of you can point me in the right direction:

I have an app that works fine at home on my non-proxied pc. yet when I try it here, I cannot for the life of me figure out the necessary settings to put in the app.config file.

I've taken a look at the Microsoft topic on this here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/6484zdc1.aspx) but still can't figure out the settings I need. I know the proxy address and port, and it *should* use my windows password to authenticate.

Any thoughts?

(I realise I could probably write this into the application itself instead of using an external file, but I don't have access to the source code and am too impatient to wait for the developer to fix it!)

could it be that the port the application communicates on is blocked?

That's possible I suppose- I have installed Wireshark to see whether I could figure out what was going on, but I don't have the first clue how it works, and have yet to read the documentation..

I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait for an update from the developer (Autodesk).
