PL2Cloud27
« on: April 09, 2009, 09:18:35 AM »
Cab,
They installed a new computer box for me and of course AutoCAD had to be reloaded. My problem, now, is that I can't get PL2Cloud 27 to work.  I get an error message  which states, "Error in dialog file  "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\support\pl2cloud.dcl", line 62:
invalid attribute' symbol: "nil".
I have put PL2Cloud in the Startup Suite to no avail as well as in acaddoc.lsp. NOTHING WORK!  I feel lost with out my revision cloud. Please help.

Is "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2002\support\" in the search path? It should be...but you never know.

Also...is pl2cloud.dcl where its supposed to be? Did you bring it across from the old computer?

Could be many things, you just got to go through all of them in a logical manner.

And *.dcl? From memory (currently greyed from too much rum) is a dialogue file associated with a lisp file...probably pl2cloud.lsp. Make sure the .dcl file is with it. I could be very wrong there.

Delete the DCL file, yes delete it.
Then enter (findfile "pl2cloud.dcl") at the command line.
If it finds another one delete it too. Repeat until no file found.
Then run the lisp.
The lisp will create another one.

Even after doing all that you suggested I still have the same problem. Same error messages, etc.

VLIDE at the command line
Load and run PL2cloud27
Do you get an error in a line in the routine?

CAB,
Sorry for not getting back sooner.
I still have a problem.  The message I now receive, at the command line, is, "bad argument type."
Can you, please help?

Was out of town...
Can you load the lisp in VLIDE & tell me which line is causing the error?

CAB,
I loaded VLide but I have no idea what I'm looking for.
P.S. Another program of yours that I greatly like is also doing the same thing: FlexDuct
They had to reload AutoCAD 2002 when they got me a new box.  I was wondering if that could be my problem.

Type VLIDE at the command line.
In VLIDE enter Ctrl-O to open a file, find pl2cloud27a & select it.
then press  Ctrl-Alt-E to load the lisp.
Use the Debug pull down menu & select Break on Error if it is not checked.
Switch to ACAD & enter pl2cloud to force the error.
Then VLIDE should reopen. Press Ctrl-F9 to high lite the spot where the error occured.
Look in the lower right corner of the VLIDE window for L 000nnn  C 000nn  and tell me
what the Line number & the Column number is. Also copy & paste that line in you post
so that I may see it.

Will you post a DWG with just the object you are selecting for the cloud?
When you create the new DWG make sure the error is still occurring.

Thanks

CAB,
Nada.  At the command line I get "unknown command, "PL2Cloud".  I think that when they gave me a new box they somehow screwed up AutoCAD.  Would you happen to have an old version of a rev cloud that follows a polyline, etc. that I might use?  One of the reasons I like PL2Cloud is that I can get into tight places.

Thanks for all your help,
Pockets
