(AutoCAD LT) AutoCad Tables to Excell & back?
« on: March 10, 2008, 04:19:18 PM »
With LT - Is there a way to copy tables to & from Excell & AutoCad?

This way someone can fill out a table in Excell and I could copy those cells to AutoCads Cells.

I don't want to do the OLE thing.

Yes LT does XRefs, but that won't save the table to Excell & Back. If I understand it correctly, that would just save it to another CAD file, right?

I found how to export the table to a .csv file, but how do I take it back to an AutoCad table?

Copy cells from Excel. Go to LT, Edit-->Paste Special-->AutoCAD entities. Ta da -- table!

Unless LT has the data extraction tools (which I doubt, but I don't remember), this is about it.

P.S. Somebody wanna move this to the LT forum? :-)

Under 'Paste Special', 'AutoCAD Entities' is not an option.

All that is there is 'UniCode Text' and 'Text'.

Must be a Full CAD option only.

Thanks anyway,

I just tested it on AutoCAD LT 2007 and it works. Are you directly copying cells?

Oops...

I just found it.

Apparently, you have to open the Excel file and copy it to the Clipboard, THEN do the 'paste special'.

It worked for me.

Thanks,
